How to beat the summer sales slump!
Everybody knows that summer is not a great time for sales. Your customers and prospects are distracted and your staff are distracted. In fact, 25% of workers feel less productive during June, July and August than in the rest of the year. The majority of sectors will be affected by this.
But how can you beat the slump of summer?
Here are six tips to help you get through those trying months.
1. Plan Ahead
What can you do before the summer to counteract the fall in sales? What can you do after summer to bring your sales back up? Being proactive and forward planning your strategy will always pay dividends.
2. Be Realistic
It’s important to aim high, but if you know that your targets are unachievable that will just lead to lack of motivation and low morale. One of the biggest impacts on productivity is morale.
3. Get active
Social media is hugely beneficial to your brand. Be present and be active. Connecting with your current customers and connecting with prospect customers gives you both great insight on what is happening within yours and their business.
4. Train and build
Use this time to connect with your team. Look at ways you can provide more training for your team put on team building tasks. “Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success.” – Henry Ford
5. Network
There are so many ways you can network. If the people you want to speak with are away connect with them online and build your working relationships a different way.
6. Do your research
Market research, customer care surveys. Whatever you choose to call it, be open to change. Grow and adapt. Looking at what your customers need from you rather than what you are selling and trying to convince your customers they need could change everything.
